Cradle to Cradle certification now available also for FBS Panels

Every HVAC designer knows that designing a functional ventilation system is one thing, but proving their sustainability in terms of certification, investor requirements, and your own values is a completely different discipline.

The end elements of the air distribution system are often the most overlooked weakness, even though they affect operating costs, the efficiency of the entire system, and even whether the building meets the required sustainability parameters. That's why we've expanded our certified CradleSox® range with FBS panels, ceiling diffusers designed specifically for spaces with lowered ceilings.

What is Cradle to Cradle?

Cradle to Cradle Certified® is a global certification system that evaluates products based on specific metrics: the health safety of components, the potential for recycling or reuse, use of renewable energy, water stewardship and social responsibility in manufacturing.

In the HVAC sector, Cradle to Cradle has exceptional significance. Certified air distribution components, such as our CradleSox® or now also FBS panels, help to meet specific building certification requirements while reducing environmental risks in projects that have a long-term impact.

CradleSox®

CradleSox® is the name for Euro Air textile diffusers that have been certified according to the Cradle to Cradle Certified® standard. They were created in response to growing pressure for documented sustainability in projects where "good intentions" are not enough and every claim must be verified.

CradleSox® are high-quality textile ducting that offers all the technical advantages of standard textile systems (low weight, easy installation, even airflow). In addition, at the end of their service life, they fulfill the goals of the circular economy - what would otherwise be waste becomes raw material for further production.

FBS panels as part of CradleSox®

Based on real-world demands, we have expanded our sustainable CradleSox® range to include FBS panels. They retain all their key benefits, such as easy installation, very low pressure loss, quiet operation below 20 dB(A), and uniform air distribution across the entire surface.

The panel construction remains the same. The only difference is in the top (hidden) part:

  • The certified panel uses the lightly permeable DFC-HT material with a permeability of 20 m3/m2/h.
  • The standard panel uses the impermeable DFC-0 material.

The reason lies in the certification requirement for full traceability of all used materials – which we can only guarantee for fabrics we produce ourselves.

What do you (and your customers) gain by choosing the certified variant?

  1. Still easy installation, elegant appearance and newly faster delivery for standard or customized sizes.
  2. Documented added value for projects seeking points in DGNB, BREEAM, or LEED.
  3. Full material transparency and documentation for certification.
  4. Buy-back bonus for acquiring a new panel when returning a used certified panel for recycling.
