What is textile ducting?

Textile ducting is an air distribution system made of lightweight textile materials that distributes fresh air evenly without drafts and dead zones.

Why textile ducting?

By choosing textile ducting you will get:

  1. 100% even air distribution without drafts or dead zones
  2. Up to 20 times less ceiling stress compared to metal ducting.
  3. Extremely easy transportation and installation, saving you both time and costs.
  4. Customizable design with a wide selection of colors, and the option for patterns or logo printing
  5. Perfectly clean air distribution, as textile ducts can be fully cleaned of all impurities during maintenance

We have summarised all the advantages of textile ducting in the following video

How heavy are fabric ducts?

Textile ducting is very lightweight, its weight ranges between 260 and 330 g/m², which is about 20 times less than traditional metal ducting.

Considering a section of Ø500 x 1000 mm, textile ducting weighs up to 550g, while sheet metal ducting can weigh around 8700g.

From what materials are the textile ducts manufactured?

Textile ducts are made of polyester materials that have specific properties for air distribution. Our most commonly used materials are:

  1. TCS: non-flammable polyester with high dust holding capacity and long maintenance intervals.
  2. DFC-HT: durable polyester suitable for cleanrooms, with high strength and cleanroom certification.
  3. DFC-0: impermeable material ideal for long distance air transfer.

TCS and DFC-HT materials are manufactured in our own weaving mill, about which you can learn more here.

Are your materials safe?

Yes, our materials are safe and meet strict quality requirements and certifications.

All our materials meet the D-s1-d0 fire resistance standards.

In addition, fabrics manufactured in our own weaving mill, namely TCS and DFC-HT, are also certified according to the OEKO-TEX® standard and can also be certified to the Cradle to Cradle sustainable standard.

What are the colour options?

Ducts are available in a wide range of colours, including standard shades such as white, black, grey, blue and green. You can choose any RAL shade, logo or pattern printing.

Jaká je životnost textilních vyústek?

The permeability of the fabrics ensures that air is not pulled in the direction of the airflow, thus eliminating drafts, guaranteeing an even distribution of incoming air and avoiding dead zones.

Does dust settle in the fabric ducts?

Yes, even in fabric outlets dust settles, but due to the even permeability of the material it is spread over the entire surface of the outlet, which implies in extended maintenance intervals. For example, TCS material can hold up to 4 times more dust than conventional materials without affecting air quality

Is there a risk of corrosion?

No, textile ducs cannot corrode because they are made of polyester materials. This durability makes them ideal for environments with higher humidity, where corrosion of metal ducting can occur.

Is it necessary to insulate the vent to prevent condensation?

No, the fabric vents do not need to be insulated against condensation. Due to the permeability of the materials used, a situation that causes condensation cannot occur - that is, when the air inside the vent is colder than the air outside.

When is it necessary to apply antibacterial treatment to textile ducting?

Antibacterial treatment of textile ventilation is recommended in humid areas with a relative humidity above 90% RH, where the growth of unwanted microorganisms can occur.

Conversely, at a relative humidity below 85% RH, antibacterial treatment is unnecessary because polyester materials used in ventilation based on textile do not allow the growth of microorganisms and will have no effect on the overall hygiene level of the space.

For more information about antibacterial treatment, please check this page.

For which materials do you offer Antibac-E treatment?

The treatment can be applied to any material from the DFC-HT or TCS family, including all their color variations.

How long is the protection effective after Antibac-E treatment and how is it applied?

The protection after Antibac-E treatment is effective for 3 washing cycles. The treatment is applied using a special agent added to the washing cycle. Due to the high dust retention capacity of Euro Air materials, the intervals between individual cycles are longer.

Is the antibacterial treatment eco-friendly?

The Antibac-E treatment is an eco-friendly solution that does not contain hazardous chemicals or silver ions.

This contributes to environmental protection and ensures a safer and more sustainable antibacterial treatment compared to traditional methods using silver ions.

Do you also manufacture ducting for air extraction?

No, we do not manufacture ducts for air extraction.

Textile HVAC systems are designed to operate on the principle of positive pressure, which is necessary for their proper function.

The textile material is not capable of maintaining the negative pressure needed for extraction.
